Chemical giant chooses Process Instruments

PROCESS Instruments has provided innovative instrumentation to one of the worlds leading chemical manufacturers, EKA Chemicals.

EKA supply bleaching and performance chemicals to the pulp and paper industry. The company, headquartered in Sweden, operates in 18 countries worldwide and is continually growing.

Working with paper mills across the UK, EKA Chemicals needed to measure the charge in various samples from around mills and required the appropriate instrumentation to carry out its tests.

It selected Process Instruments to supply a laboratory charge analyser that is used to help optimise the chemical dosage around the Mill.

Process Instruments also provide a range of on-line instruments suitable for the Paper Industry including pH, Chlorine, Solids, Consistency and on-line charge analysers.

Richard Whalley of EKA Chemicals, said: “When we looked at replacing one of our existing analysers we looked at the market and invited several vendors in. Process Instruments provided the best instrument at the best price.”

Process Instruments, which operates globally, is based in Burnley, Lancashire and is dedicated to providing solutions to problems in the water, waste, chemical and paper industries. Clients include Georgia Pacific, St Regis, Rhodia, Bristol Water, Northumbrian Water, Urenco and EKA Chemicals.
