Process Instruments provides analyser for Ahlstrom

BELGIAN paper maker, Ahlstrom, has chosen industry expert Process Instruments to provide a vital auto-calibrating residual chlorine analyser.

Ahlstrom make specialist paper for use in wall hangings. Part of the manufacturing process requires make-up water, which is treated with sodium hypochlorite as a biocide.

The company needed a residual chlorine analyser to monitor the make-up water and after thorough research carried out over the internet, Ahlstrom was impressed with Process Instruments’ wide range of instrumentation and exemplary customer service.

Ahlstrom has now installed a CRIUS 3500 with auto-calibrator from Process Instruments in its Malmedy mill in Belgium.

Process Instruments also provide auto-calibrating pH and autoflushing units for use with the pH/ORP/residual chlorine probes in paper mill applications.

Mike Riding of Process Instruments said:  “The internet is providing customers from anywhere on the planet with the perfect way to find the products that they need and not just what is available locally. We are increasingly being contacted by overseas customers who see a solution to their problems on our website with our range of auto-calibrating and remote access pH and Chlorine analysers.”

Process Instruments, which operates across the world, is based in Burnley and is dedicated to providing solutions to problems in the water, waste, chemical and paper industries. Clients include Georgia Pacific, St Regis, Rhodia, Bristol Water, Northumbrian Water, Urenco, and Dow Chemicals.
